President's Message

BTV and Membership

Last week we heard from Debbie Cwalina about how our home grown BTV campaign is making our schools a better place for our students by helping to stop bullying.  Six years ago Debbie started this awareness campaign with the support of Michael Schoppenhorst and other members. What is your passion and what is the next BTV?

Last week we inducted two more new members, Geoff Smith and Bill Hoban.  Welcome!   More to come!

Five things all Roswell Rotarians should know about Membership:

  1. We are a Membership organization and Service is what we do.
  2. You can't deny the statistics, district annual Attrition rate is 12.1%.
  3. Retention is for long term.
  4. Clubs need Moderate membership growth every year.
  5. It takes Intentional strategies for growth.

Our retention strategy is to maintain and build on our culture of giving back to the community and having fun doing so.  Trummie Lee introduced our membership strategy for growth with three new membership levels to involve more members of our community.

  1. Young Professionals:
    • 35 and younger
    • Slightly reduced dues.
    • Full membership benefits.
  2. Corporate Membership:
    • Primary member and Alternate Member.
    • Corporate membership advertising opportunities.
    • Full membership benefits to Primary member.
  3. Non-Profit Membership
    • Primary member and Alternate Member.
    • Full membership benefits to Primary member.

Help spread the word that Roswell Rotary is THE place to give back to the community and have a blast doing so.

Interact Clubs: What's Happening!

Interact Club Annual Update

Our Roswell Rotary sponsored Interact Clubs will give their annual update. Michael Schoppenhorst will introduce these student leaders.

Hear directly from the young leaders themselves

Always so inspiring to hear directly from the students about their Interact projects and how taking part in this club has enriched their lives and those around them!

Roswell Rotary Blood Drive at Gate City

The American Red Cross is currently facing an emergency blood shortage. Donor turnout has reached the lowest levels of the year as many delayed giving amid a return to the workplace and in-person learning for many families, as well as the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country due to the Delta variant.

As Roswell Rotarians let's live up to our motto: "Service above Self".  Please take a moment to consider the gift of life!  As of this writing we've now received over 80% commitments for donations.  Way to go Rotarians...but we still have up to 12 seats available!

We challenge all of you to get a friend, family member or neighbor and sign up for November 3rd 10:00am - 6:00pm blood drive at Gate City.  You'll feel good that you did and you'll be saving many lives.

Click here to reserve 60 minutes on Nov. 3rd to donate. For more information, contact Darrell Bartlett or  Hal Schlenger.   Our thanks to Pat Rains and Michael Curling for their current and past help saving lives in our community.
