Skipper Hoke Awards

It’s Skipper Hoke Leadership Awards Week!
During our lunch we will be recognizing the 2023 football programs at Blessed Trinity, Fellowship Christian, and Roswell High School as well as a standout student athlete from each. These students exhibit high leadership ideals and embody the Rotary ideal of Service above Self. They are honored with their name being added to the impressive trophy which sits in their respective school lobby year round. They will also receive an individual trophy to keep. Listening to how these student athletes are involved in the community, in their school, and focused on their life goals is exciting.
Skipper was a long-time member of the Roswell Rotary Club having joined in 1981 and served as President in 1990. He loved his UGA Bulldogs, his childhood hometown of Newnan, and the Roswell community while being Vice President of the Roswell Bank for over 20 years. His wife, Nancy, can still be seen at a Roswell Rotary event occasionally. She is proud that this tradition continues strong for it started in 2017 after Skipper’s unexpected death in 2016 at age 72. Thanks to Dave Young and Jim Broadway for honoring not only a great community member but also a great Rotarian by keeping this award relevant to our high school student’s today.
