The Rotary Club is pleased to welcome Wanda Wiggins, Community Outreach Specialist with the Drug Enforcement Administration, whose work focuses on strengthening drug‑prevention awareness across Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. In her current role, she provides training and education to communities, helping them understand emerging drug threats and the steps needed to keep families safe. Ms. Wiggins brings more than four decades of public‑service experience to this mission. She joined the DEA in 2023 after a distinguished 16‑year career as an Alcohol and Drug Control Officer with the United States Army, where she oversaw prevention initiatives and drug‑testing programs for the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, supporting a force of 8,500 Soldiers.

Before her Army service, Ms. Wiggins spent seven years as the Family Outreach Coordinator for the United States Air Force at Yokota Air Base in Japan, working closely with military families and the surrounding community to identify needs and connect them with essential resources. Her earlier career includes seven years as a Youth at Risk Counselor with the Department of Social Services and a decade with the City of North Charleston Police Department.

Ms. Wiggins holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from Troy State University.

Ms. Wiggins will discuss the DEA’s national One Pill Can Kill initiative, which raises awareness about the alarming rise in counterfeit pills manufactured by criminal drug networks. These fake pills, often containing illicit fentanyl, are contributing to a nationwide surge in fatal overdoses. She will highlight why the DEA urges all Americans to take only medications prescribed by a medical professional and dispensed by a licensed pharmacist. Her program will cover the dangers of illicit fentanyl, and, if time permits, she will address “gas‑station drugs” and lead a brief fentanyl awareness activity.
